Michael Schriver, Owner of Fidelis Construction, Inc. built our home in 2013. Our experience was positive from the very beginning because customer satisfaction is obviously important to Michael. He is easy to talk to and a man of his word.
We knew the “ground rules” associated with costs, time lines, and communication expectations from our first meeting. Michael kept us updated on all aspect of the build throughout the process. He was open to input and change plans as the build was in progress and we identified the items.
On the house itself, we gave Michael a custom floor plan that he had his engineer draw in to blueprints with all the structural details. He listened to and heard what was important to us. As a result Michael was able to execute this drawing into a beautiful, comfortable home that we love.
Our new home’s heating and cooling costs are significantly lower than our last home even though it has 60% more cubic feet and 12 more windows. Michael made this possible through the equipment and materials used. We have a combination electric heat pump/propane heater. This helped us avoid using emergency electric heating during times of sever temperature drops. We have argon gas windows, R19 insulation, and tech shield covering under the roof.
The workmanship in the foundation, framing, roofing, and cement work are outstanding. We hired an independent structural engineer to inspect our home after its completion. He not only said it was a very well built home but Michael had gone beyond building requirements in some areas of the home increasing the structural strength.
Michael gives attention to detail. We gave him a photograph of a fire place mantel and surround that we liked and he duplicated it. He had used 2 x 6 framing so our window sills are deep and beautiful. When preparing to order the front door he noticed a difference in a photograph from our last home and he checked if the new planned door was to our taste. When preparing to order the roofing material he found a wonderful sale opportunity of 50 year roofing material on sale for little more than the 30 year material cost. We selected the 50 year material and he passed the total savings on to us when placing the order. We wanted a screened in back porch with a cathedral ceiling and cement flooring and he executed that from verbal descriptions and
photographs.
All this was done on a very cost effective budget. We had seriously looked at 2 other builder options and Michael’s price was the most competitive and his detail to our needs was superior to the others.
We now live in a beautiful, light filled house that we hope will be a generational home. We highly recommend Michael Schriver and Fidelis Construction to anyone wanting to build a home from the ground up. We are sure you will have the same experience that we did…A great one!
