In the late 1990s, Michael Schriver had a desire to pursue a career where there was a challenge at every corner. Michael’s father and both grandfathers were involved in construction and surveying. After evaluating various opportunities with the construction industry, he realized that new home construction was his future. He believed that his strong organization and communication skills would allow him to create homes desireable by many customers. He enjoys the ability to create new designs and seek out the opportunities to develop new spaces with existing home plans.
Prior to founding Fidelis Construction, Inc., Michael had served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Persian Gulf War. After his enlistment, Michael became a police officer and later an educator at the high school and community college levels. “Fidelis” is Latin for “Faithful” and part of the Marine Corps motto, “Semper Fidelis” or “Always Faithful.” Michael believes strongly in the fundamentals of the Marine Corps and wanted to use those fundamentals in his business.
Over the last 15 years, Michael has been heavily involved in the community. He coached youth baseball, served as a Deacon in church, served 5 years on the Board of Directors of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce (Treasurer in 2009, Vice Chairman in 2010, Board Chairman 2011-2012) and supported various other community efforts. With a passion for children and baseball, Michael has volunteered as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Miracle League of Franklin County working together with other volunteer leaders to build the first baseball field and Family House for exceptional needs children in four counties.
Today, Michael continues to give back to his community as a leader in the capacity as a County Commissioner. Michael has been a driving voice for strategic long-term planning in our county. He currently is serving on the Economic Development Board, Utility Advisory Board, Airport Advisory Board, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board. On the education front, Michael is actively supportive of the many extra-curriculum activities at Franklinton High School through volunteering, advocating and fund-raising. Michael continues to be driven by a passion to serve and prepare a better tomorrow for the next generation in Franklin County.
